Other: Sapphire Tower condos are located adjacent to the train tracks (on the east side) 100 yards north of the Sante Fe train station. If bay views are very important to you take a look at the Grande condos or the Bayside condos, as these are on the "residential front row", one block closer to the bay than Sapphire Tower.
The design of Sapphire Tower consist of three different series of luxury living. The Cosmopolitan Series covers floors 5-7 and has six condos per floor. The Cosmopolitan series floor plans range from 505 – 1,772 square feet. Next up is the Sapphire Series, covering floors 8-23, with four condos per floor. The Sapphire series floor plans range from 904 – 1,949 square feet. At the top of Sapphire Tower is the Penthouse Series, covering floors 24-32, this series only has two condos per floor. The Penthouse series floor plans range from 2,823 – 2,981 square feet. There is a very special penthouse encompassing the entire top floor (33rd), which is just over 5,000 square feet. The name of this special unit is the La Jolla Penthouse. The penthouse units have their own private elevator stop directly into their unit, no common hallway.
Units facing these directions will probably see:
West: The Sapphire Tower condos have some great bay views BETWEEN the two Grande condo towers directly in front of it. It really is a great view all the way out to Point Loma, just know that its a relatively narrow view. Views off to the NW or SW are also currently obstructed by the Bayside condos (to the NW) and future high rises already planned and approved as you look SW. The SW view is a great view in 2009, but the water views now present will one day be very very obstructed.
North: In 2009 you have a panoramic view as far North as the eye can see, even watch the airplanes fly in to the runway. However, if you look down at the ground you will see a big parking lot that will one day be a high rise condo building. So be careful about buying a unit for the North view as it will one day change dramatically. Sure you will have views off to each side, but directly North you will be looking at another building.
East: This is a good city view, lots of other office high rises scattered across the skyline.
South: The South view at Sapphire Tower condominiums is a pretty good view, lots of skyline and some water. This view, especially as the eye drifts toward the water will be severely impacted by future construction.
Note: These views may change in the future or if you are on a very low floor may not have any view. Each buyer should verify on their own and the above statments carry no warranty.
